Being a mindful house-wife...

In this post, I will discuss briefly about some of the things I have already implemented and plan to implement in the near future to secure the health and well-being of my family. I am doing all this within my capacity of the resources I have access to currently...given that, that may change as I implement other ideas in future...

First and foremost, I have tried to get rid of most of the non-stick cookware in my kitchen and replaced them with Cast-iron and Clay pots for cooking. Yes, the upsides are many in terms of plentiful health benefits but the downside is that these do drain the cooking gas a lot. So need to balance them both. But I guess in today's world, anything eco-friendly and healthy doesn't come cheap! Still waiting for the day when organic will actually become cheaper than processed food - that is the day the world will be set right.

Also, I have started purchasing cold-pressed (can be read as cold-priceyed) oil - coconut, gingelly, mustard, olive. Hopefully, these oils are as beneficial to health as they say to be. But again, who knows? Each day, a new research says something different...isn't it?

Also, I try to reduce the usage of  'white poison' (Refined flour, White sugar, Milk, Salt, Rice) as much as possible. But still its not possible due to the influx of guests.

Next, I try to buy organic groceries as much as possible, I am still not there at 100% obviously due to the price of these organic items, but slowly changing.

Also, I try to be conscious of buying health and cosmetics which are more environmental friendly atleast to some degree.

Also, my future to-do list to do my bit for helping Mother Earth, is to implement Rain Water Harvesting, Harnessing solar power, Biogas and growing my own vegetables....long list...let me see how I get through each one...until then, please leave your comments on how you are a conscious householder...let's share each others knowledge...
